A Canadian-American academic, author, adventurer and labour rights activist, Roy signed up for creative writing workshops following his retirement from McMaster University in 1997. His first poem “worth mentioning” was published in 2014 in Tower Poetry, the bi-annual book published by the Tower Poetry Society. His poetic themes cover a wide spectrum and often include hints of subtle humour.
