The late Helen Fitzgerald Dougher was a Canadian poet of immense sensitivity. She began writing poetry as a young child of 11, and honed her style throughout her long and productive life. Of poetry, she once said: “Poetry is joy, excitement, a flash of beauty coming suddenly and without warning. It is a light in the dark of despair and loneliness”.
This is a collection of much of her best work, written in a rhyming and rhythmic classical style, using nature, and observations on people and travel as a backdrop to her musings on relationships, everyday life occurrences and beauty.
